Missions

Woodbury Community Church is committed to seeing the Good News of Jesus Christ shared across the street and around the world. The goal of missions at WCC is to bring glory to God by increasing the worship of God by people from every nation and tribe and people and tongue.

“"Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to all creation.” – Mark 16:15 (NIV)

“How can they call on Him to save them unless they believe in Him?

And how can they believe in Him if they have never heard about Him?

And how can they hear about Him unless someone tells them?” -Romans 10:14 (NIV)

Our Missionaries

Woodbury Community Church is committed to seeing the Good News of Jesus Christ shared across the street and around the world. The goal of missions at WCC is to bring glory to God by increasing the worship of God by people from every nation, tribe, people and tongue.

We have a number of ministry partners around the world that God is using in wonderful ways. It is our privilege to come alongside of them in their work through strategic partnerships in praying, giving and going. Because many of the incredible servants of God serve in areas where their lives and the lives of those they serve could be placed in danger by sharing their names, we have chosen not to do so on our website. If you have questions about specific missionaries that we support and how you can get in touch with them, please contact the church office at (651) 739-1427 or by e-mailing missions@wccmn.org

Missions Outreach

We are committed to being the hands and feet of Jesus in our own backyard through a number of Compassion Ministries that we support as a church family. We believe that every Christian should be serving in at least one area of compassion. Jesus told His disciples about the importance of compassion in Matthew 25:31-46.

31 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left. 34 Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, 36 I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ 37 Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? 38 And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? 39 And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ 40 And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’

41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’ 44 Then they also will answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?’ 45 Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.’ 46 And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

- Matthew 25:41-46 (ESV)

We believe that compassion is best lived out when it is coupled with sharing the hope of the Gospel.

Short-term Missions

Woodbury Community Church regularly offers short-term mission trips as a way to expose our members to the work of God around the world. These trips offer a means for us to come alongside of our ministry partners in practical ways so that the work that they are doing might be advanced. They also help us gain a larger understanding of other cultures, the needs of people around the world, and the beauty of the body of Christ. If you would like information about upcoming short-term mission trips you can e-mail our short-term mission coordinator here
